FROM THE TRENCHES
Topic: Calm vs. Composed
One dad shared a simple reframe that really landed this week.
He realized that telling yourself to “stay calm” can feel impossible in the heat of the moment. When a kid pushes back, calm can disappear fast and suddenly you’re in a power struggle you never wanted.
The shift was aiming to stay composed instead.
You can be stressed. You can be fired up on the inside. But if you stay steady on the outside, your kid learns that pushing buttons doesn’t change the direction. No yelling. No escalation. Just calm, firm follow-through.
The takeaway: your kids don’t need you perfectly calm. They need you regulated enough to lead.
Sometimes the win isn’t feeling zen. It’s holding the line without losing yourself.

WEEKEND BURNER
This one sneaks up on ya pretty quickly.
The Workout (AMRAP – as many rounds as possible):
⏱ 20 minutes
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Air Squats
That’s it. Until it’s not. A great burner when the kids are still asleep, and you need to get something in.

THIS ONE’S BEEN A WHILE IN THE MAKING
Alright, alright. Here’s what we’re fired up about.
Over the last year, Dad Day has evolved a lot. One thing we knew for sure was that we wanted to highlight dads doing things a little differently and, hopefully, inspire a few others along the way.
Our first Go West episode is officially here. It’s been months in the making, and we’re genuinely excited about this one…and even more excited about the stories we’ve got lined up to tell next.
Huge, heartfelt shoutout to Luke and Rachel, who jumped in on this idea from day one and helped bring it to life. Couldn’t have done it without you.
If you’ve got a few minutes today or this weekend, we’d love for you to watch the episode, share it with someone who’d enjoy it, and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
PS: Bottom of the email. Marketing genius here.
